Nannini Cafe - Plaza Indonesia

Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta

About

Formerly known as Alessandro Nannini since 1995, the food place finally gone through a rejuvenation last year. Coming up with fresh menu and a more modernly designed dining are, Nannini wished to reclaim their glory years. On one occasion, I get to taste a few of their menu. I opened the meal with Wild Mushroom Soup. The coarse grainy texture of grind mushroom is a personal liking. Feels a lot more masculine kind of dish. On the main courses, I'd really recommend Nannini's Striploin, grilled striploin served with creamy champignon sauce and mashed potato and Nannini's Salmon, grilled salmon with mesclun salad and balsamic dressing. Both menu suits my taste well but not particularly special. The beef is more on the heavier side with creamy mushroom sauce. While the fish is a bit toned down, lighter, well cooked but still with the full flavor of a fish. The dessert is actually what stands out for me. The Tiramisu with its layers of soft mascarpone mousse and play of texture between the soft sponge and the crisp biscuits, made quite an impression. Dashes of berries also added variety to each bite. All in all, it is an enjoyable place to dine, but for the price they are charging, I'm quite sure there are a few alternatives that could please the palate better.
