Karen Lim

Karen is the current President Director of BMW Group Indonesia, whose role is overseeing BMW and MINI brands in Indonesia, a role she assumed back in 2014. A common issue in the automotive industry as the male-dominated world. After all, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG or popularly known as BMW is still about cars, despite the German brand’s elegant and luxury vibes.

Karen remarks that it’s hard to ignore the facts that there are still companies which “associate masculine characteristics with success and achievement. These include assertiveness, aggressiveness and task-oriented leadership abilities.â€
Nevertheless, the determined business leader Karen has refused to be trapped in how companies often portray women as the nurturing yet non-executive, persona, and a no material for leaders. “A woman executive can also be assertive and task oriented, and can be nurturing when needed,†she asserts.
