On December 9, 2019, a gala reception was held to commemorate and celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This event was was hosted by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Indonesia.
This special event was attended by over 500 guests, and included representatives of the Indonesian government, members of the business community and public personalities, members of the mass media, heads of other diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Jakarta, as well as Kazakh citizens living in Indonesia.
In his opening speech the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Indonesia H.E. Mr. Daniyar Sarekenov informed the guests about the main achievements of the republic since its independence under the leadership of the First President - Leader of the Nation H.E. Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev. Special attention was paid to important political events in the country, as well as political and socio-economic reforms outlined in the State of the Nation Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dated September 2, 2019.
Special mention was also made by the ambassador with regards to the growing bilateral relationship between Kazakhstan and Indonesia. Special guest of honour at the independence day celebrations, the Minister of Manpower of Indonesia, H.E. Mrs. Ida Fauziyah, highly praised the development of Kazakh-Indonesian relations and noted that Kazakhstan, being the largest economy in Central Asia, is an Indonesia’s gateway to the region, as well as an access point to the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union. The highlight of the event was the performance by the Indonesian singer Ms. Rimar Calista, as she gave an outstanding rendition of Dimash Kudaibergen's “Akkuym”.
