On Friday, 16th August 2019, The Macallan Indonesia held the second qualifying round of the M Masters at Cengkareng Golf Club - Soewarna. Known as a meeting point for established individuals, the course is well known for its semi-private facility that welcomes visitors alongside a roster of active members.

The club has been open since 1999 and already has established itself as the club of choice for the local and expatriate communities in Jakarta. Cengkareng Golf Club prides itself on its personalized attentive service and offers International standards of hospitality along with a championship golf course, presented in immaculate condition for the players of The Macallan M Masters Indonesia.

The participants were recruited through the Club’s members’ association and The Macallan Indonesia VIP List, garnering more than 90 players for the second game of the season. The winners for the second qualifying round are Mr. Heri Budinoto (Winner), Mr. Andi Yang (1st Runner Up), Mr. Alexander Liem (2nd Runner up), Mr. Edward Marwin (3rd Runner Up).

Tropical weather permitted a relaxed vibe amongst the players, whom were also treated to refreshing Macallan cocktails such as the signature Whisky Sour and Copa. The round concluded with a mix of western and indonesian dinner. Plenty of fun games compliment the event, as they dined delectable cuisine plated and paired impeccably with The Macallan’s exquisite whiskies.

The M Masters Indonesia is part of the regional The Macallan M Masters 2019 tournament. When the tournament was first introduced in 2015, it took the form of a one-day golf play-offs which took place only in Singapore. This year, the signature golf event is extended to other Southeast Asia cities, with Indonesia being one of it. The gameplay requires a team of 12 players to be formed for each country, selected across three qualifying rounds leading up to the finals in end of August.

The national representatives will then make their way to Bangkok, where the final play-offs will be hosted at Nikanti Golf Club and Amata Spring Country Club. The winning team walks away with exclusive prizes and bragging rights, and an ultimate winner scores a trip to The Macallan’s home in Speyside, Scotland where he or she will be taking on an intimate journey to experience the brand at its best.

Those keen on taking their spot to represent Indonesia can look forward to the final qualifying round which will take place on 30th August 2019 at Royale Jakarta Golf Club. With a Leica SL completed with the lens – Leica Vario Elmaritt 24-90mm and the M Decanter – The Macallan’s pinnacle whisky expression of the prominent Masters Decanter Series as hole-in-one prizes to be won, M Masters is certainly making its mark as the sport event of the year.
