As a child Sidik. W. Martowidjojo was always very passionate about painting. He is interested in a wide range of subjects across eastern and western cultures, including calligraphy, literature, history, and philosophy.
While absorbing the essences of each respective art form, he has blazed new trails in artistic creation conceptually and tangibly. Having featured his works across Europe and Asia (Carrousel du Louvre Museum France, National art museum of China (NAMOC), The China Millenium Monumen, and Indonesia National Gallery Jakarta).
Sidik Martowidjojo is also a recipient of the prestigious Medaille d’Or Award from Carrousel du Louvre, Paris in 2014. Thus, it was only fitting that this virtuoso had his work exhibited by us, Arkaarts. Established since 2018 in Indonesia, Arkaarts provides an international platform for arts and business. It was founded by Arnold James Setokusumo assisted by his brother Arthur Jones Setokusumo.
Arkaarts represented Sidik. W. Martowidjojo in a solo exhibiton in Art Jakarta exhibition 2019. This exhibition represents EAST MEET WEST painting technique which made Sidik’s artwork as the "Unity in Diversity".
The public and invited VIP guests were able to view sidik’s unique take in contradicting colors whilst juxtaposing Chinese and Western painting techniques in one breathtaking work of art. Aptly titled “Unity in Diversity”, the works of art were set as lightning rods for those in attendance to feel the emotions and perspectives that resulted in deep contemplative thought.
At the 11th Art Jakarta exhibition, visitors were presented with an exceptional line of works and a series of different activities. Art Jakarta 2019 further strengthened its overall appeal by presenting three main attractions in the Exhibition Program.
Jakarta Gallery, Jakarta Spot, and Jakarta Scene are the three main programs that were provided. The Jakarta Gallery displayed more than 100 art works. Both from domestic and foreign artists. The Art Jakarta exhibition was held at JCC Senayan from August 31 to September 1, 2019, and was open for the public. It was a highly artistic affair all in all.
