Young Thai jazz star Janewattananond added the perfect layer of ice to his cake with a sensational performance to seal his fifth and third titles on the Asian Tour this season at the BNI Indonesian Masters supported by Bank BRI and MedcoEnergi.
The 24-year-old Thai golfer, who only recently received the crown of the Asian Tour Order of 2019, closed the final round with a score of seven under-par (65) accumulating to 23-under-par stroke (265). Jazz took a five-shot lead over compatriot Gunn Charoenkul at Royale Jakarta Golf Club.
With a total of 20 Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points available at the BNI Indonesian Masters, which is the flagship tournament on the Asian Tour, Jazz will breakthrough into the Top-50 in world rankings after his victory in Jakarta and secure its chance to play at the Masters next April.
Starting the final round with a one-stroke advantage, Jazz made par five in a row before making three birdies with a score of 33 on the first nine holes. He also led with a four-stroke advantage after posting an eagle on two consecutive days on hole 12.
Jazz became the youngest golfer to win five titles on the Asian Tour. He will become the third Thai golfer, after Thongchai Jaidee in 2009 and Kiradech Aphibarnrat in 2015, to enter the World Top 50 in golf rankings.
