"WATCH WORLD was founded in 1990 as a trading company specializing in accessories, including watches. At that time, the company mainly supplied its products to department stores and specialty stores. When the opportunity aroused, the first Watch World store was opened at Ciputra Mall, Jakarta. In 1991, the company became officially a watch distributor with Guess watches. Subsequently, over the years, more brands were added including Esprit, Tissot, Longines, and CK. The year 2001, the company opened an Audemars Piquet boutique in Plaza Senayan, Jakarta. The company went into joint venture with the Hour Glass Singapore to open the Hour Glass Watch in Jakarta in 2003. However the company made an exit from the luxurious market right before the worldwide Financial crisis in 2008."
